Deep Roots Drainage is a locally owned company specializing in high‑quality drain tile installation for farms and rural properties across North Dakota. We’re looking for a reliable Project Coordinator-Design Lead to join our team. As the Project Coordinator and Design Lead, you’ll turn landowners’ goals into well‑planned, efficient drainage projects. This role combines technical design work with project coordination, serving as the link between customers, field crews, and leadership. You’ll create accurate drainage layouts, prepare project details, and ensure each job is ready for smooth execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate drainage designs, maps, and project layouts using GPS, Lidar survey data, and design software
  • Review landowner goals, field conditions, and soil data to create efficient, effective drainage plans
  • Prepare job packets, material lists, maps, and documentation for field crews
  • Communicate with farmers, landowners, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain organized project files, digital records, and design archives
  • Support operations with ones calls, and material ordering coordination
  • Provide problem‑solving support when design or field challenges arise
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, workflows, and project processes

Qualifications

  • Experience in project coordination, construction, agriculture, or a related technical field Preferred
  • Familiarity with mapping tools, GPS systems, survey data, or drainage design software (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially when working with field data and design requirements
  • Excellent communication skills for working with customers, field crews, and vendors
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in design work, documentation, and coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and shifting priorities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain clear records and project files
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and digital project tools
